March 2011 Wrap Up: Books and Reviews
Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update
I started March with 277 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …275! I feel like my reading has slowed down this month as I’ve gotten busier at work, but perhaps that’s just in the past week or so… the tally below certainly seems fine! Plus, any month in which I rack up negative numbers on the ol’ TBR counter can’t have been all bad.
…anyways, let’s take a look at the breakdown:
Neutral books – Read, but don’t affect the TBR pile
Audiobooks |
|||
Read but not owned |
|||
E-Books and Stories |
Changes to the TBR pile
Read from my TBR pile (huzzah!) |
|||
Acquired and then Read (semi-huzzah!) |
|||
Other removals from my TBR pile (um… huzzah?) |

I spent the last three months reading only books from my TBR pile for the TBR Dare. I read 23 inches worth of book, but added 18 inches worth in new books. So only a net reduction of 5 inches worth of book from a total almost 11 feet.
I’ll never get them all read.
C.B. – Although I’ve piled up my TBR books a few times before, I’ve never thought to measure my reading in inches! That’s almost scarier, since I know I’m adding more chunksters to the pile than I’m reading.
But hey, negative inches! At that pace you’ve only got two years worth of reading to do… better buy more books, just to be safe in case of zombie apocalypse!
hmmm… I traded in about a half dozen titles at the used bookstore, donated another half dozen or so to the library book sale, purchased maybe 4, got a few ARCs in the mail, got a few more out of the library. . . so nope, doesn’t look like I’m making any progress.
but Huzzah to seeing Wise Man’s Fear in your collection!!
Redhead – Wise Man’s Fear was a birthday present… I was definitely planning to read it anyways, but was maybe going to wait for the slightly less intimidating paperback. :)
Ooh, your TBR acquisitions this month are fantastic though! I’m buying three of them myself this month. :)
Meghan – Which ones? (I’m assuming Wise Man’s Fear, but which other two?)
Jackaroo is so good, though! You shouldn’t feel guilty for adding it to your TBR pile. ;D
Anastasia – Oh, good, always nice to have my book hoarding choices validated. :)
Whoo! Negative figures on the TBR pile! Congratulations!
I hope you’ll enjoy all of the new additions to your TBR pile! ^-^
Shanra – I’m looking forward to all of them!
