June 2017 Wrap-Up: Books and Reviews

July 2, 2017

Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update

I started June with 213 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …214! I got a good amount of reading done this month, even though quite a bit of it was re-reading, and none of it was from my TBR pile. But hey, reading is reading! I also (finally) (FINALLY) got some reviews written. I’m trying to work at my review backlog from both ends, working on the oldest books first but also reviewing new books as I finish them. Some of them have been (and are going to be) pretty short, since I don’t always remember a lot of details of stuff that I read more than a year ago. But I’ll keep chipping away.

…anyways, let’s take a look at the breakdown:

Neutral books – Read, but don’t affect the TBR pile

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Read But Not Owned (Books)
The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan
The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald

Read But Not Owned (Graphic Novels)
Soviet Daughter by Julia Alekseyeva
The Wicked and the Divine Vol. 4: Rising Action by Kieron Gillen
Paper Girls Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan (review coming soon)

Crossroads of Twilight by Robert Jordan
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling
Lord John and the Private Matter by Diana Gabaldon
The Wicked and the Divine Vol. 3: Commercial Suicide by Kieron Gillen

Changes to the TBR pile

Non-TBR acquisitions (storage-space-related shame!) Added to my TBR pile (all-around shame!)
Saga, Vol. 6 by Brian K. Vaughan Saga, Vol. 7 by Brian K. Vaughan
Added to my eTBR pile (non-storage-space-related shame!)
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas O Jerusalem by Laurie R. King
* Pursuant to the discussion on this post, I’ve decided to create an eTBR pile for e-books and audiobooks that I accept for review or for which I actually pay money. I’m not adding them into my total TBR numbers, but I have to fess up about them somewhere. Keeps me honest.
