June 2014 Wrap-Up: Books and Reviews
Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update
I started June with 263 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …239! Good job, self! I finally got up the guts to get rid of the giant stack o’ books that I had pulled for possible donation over a month ago – these were (mostly) books that I’d had for a long time (like seven to eight years or more) but had never made it off the shelf. Basically books that I once had an interest in reading but didn’t so much any more. And even though these were books that I was pretty sure I was okay getting rid of, I still had to be coaxed into actually making the donation by a friend, and then reward myself with ice cream afterwards.
On the reading front, June was okay. I spent a lot of the month sick, first with a cold and then with the Cough That Won’t Give Up. That should have translated into a lot of reading and in some ways it did, but it also made me crave comfort books, so I’ve been in a very re-read-y type mood lately. But I did read a couple of chunksters off the TBR pile, so that counting the donations, my TBR pile went down by more than 10,000 pages! Not too shabby.
…anyways, let’s take a look at the breakdown:
Neutral books – Read, but don’t affect the TBR pile

I loved the Great Brain books when I was a kid!!
Kathy – Me too! I read them all a million times but never owned my own copies. I still remember exactly where in my library they were shelved, too.
