March 2014 Wrap-Up: Books and Reviews

April 2, 2014

Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update

I started March with 262 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …261! This month, you guys! (I know I said the same thing last month, so I guess: This year, you guys!) I got some decent reading done over spring break but the rest of the month has been a whole lot of nothing – I’ve had trouble even finding the time to get through graphic novels. And I don’t know that April is going to be much better, with all of the end-of-semester craziness. But here’s hoping!

…anyways, let’s take a look at the breakdown:

Neutral books – Read, but don’t affect the TBR pile

Read But Not Owned (Books)
Heads in Beds: A Reckless Memoir of Hotels, Hustles, and So-Called Hospitality by Jacob Tomsky

Read But Not Owned (Graphic Novels)
Ex Machina, Vol. 1: The First Hundred Days by Brian K. Vaughan
Castle Waiting, Volume II by Linda Medley
Freshman: Tales of 9th Grade Obsessions, Revelations, and Other Nonsense by Corinne Mucha
Monster on the Hill by Rob Harrell

Re-Reads
Komarr by Lois McMaster Bujold
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling
A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold

Changes to the TBR pile

Read from my TBR pile (huzzah!)
Bloodshot by Cherie Priest
The Privilege of the Sword by Cherie Priest

Added and then read (um… huzzah?)
The Mincing Mockingbird’s Guide to Troubled Birds by Matt Adrian

Added to my TBR pile (all-around shame!)
The Quick by Lauren Owen

Non-TBR acquisitions (storage-space-related shame!)
Saga, Vol. 1 by Brian K. Vaughan Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

Added to my eTBR pile (non-storage-space-related shame!)
The Woodcutter by Kate Danley Lost Things by Melissa Scott & Jo Graham
Jumper by Steven Gould The Happiest Days of Our Livesby Wil Wheaton
To Be or Not To Be by Ryan North Arcanum 101: Welcome New Students by Mercedes Lackey & Rosemary Edghill
The God Engines by John Scalzi Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves
Mogworld by Yahtzee Croshaw * Pursuant to the discussion on this post, I’ve decided to create an eTBR pile for e-books for which I actually pay money. I’m not adding them into my total TBR numbers, but I have to fess up about them somewhere. Keeps me honest.

I had a hard time getting any reading done in March, too. I hope April surprises you!
