March 2013 Wrap-Up: Books and Reviews

April 2, 2013

Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update

I started March with 237 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …241! Ugh, you guys, March just killed me, reading-wise. I spent the first week traveling, but not really getting much reading done, then the rest of the month has been crazy, crazy busy, both at work and at home (and in working while I’m at home), so I only got through a very, very few books. (And reviewed even fewer. My apologies for the blog silence this past week and a half, but I got so far behind on other things that it just had to take a back burner.) And yet I acquired a bunch of new TBR books, because there were ARCs I couldn’t resist requesting, and because I let myself go to the used bookstore as a birthday present to myself, and… yeah. The end of the semester is coming. I just have to keep telling myself that.

…anyways, let’s take a look at the breakdown:

Neutral books – Read, but don’t affect the TBR pile

Audiobooks
The Forgery of Venus by Michael Gruber

Read But Not Owned (Graphic Novels)
Fables: Fairest, Vol. 1: Wide Awake

E-Books
The Stress of Her Regard by Tim Powers

Re-Reads
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling

Changes to the TBR pile

Read from my TBR pile (huzzah!)
Bellwether by Connie Willis
Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks

Added to my TBR pile (all-around shame!)
The Virtu by Sarah Monette (Memory’s fault) Kushiel’s Justice by Jacqueline Carey
Unnatural Creatures ed. by Neil Gaiman The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
Blood and Beauty by Sarah Dunant Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Non-TBR acquisitions (storage-space-related shame!)
Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
