January 2013 Wrap-Up: Books and Reviews

February 1, 2013

Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update

I started January with 241 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …238! Hooray, negative three! Let’s just bask in that for a while, shall we? Bask in that, before we move on to the embarassingly short rest of this post. Negative three! That’s pretty damn good. Good job self! Negative three. Way to keep the numbers down! Yay!

…and then we get to the embarassingly short part. I read nothing this month. Well, almost nothing. Compared to my regular month, it’s nothing. Moving is a time-suck, y’all. Hopefully I’ll have a little bit more time in February, but we’ll see. Maybe I’ll have to *make* more time.

Changes to the TBR pile

Listened from my TBR pile (huzzah!)
Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson

Read from my TBR pile (huzzah!)
Pyg: The Memoirs of Toby, the Learned Pig
by Russell Potter
Speaking from Among the Bones by Alan Bradley
The Lost Art of Mixing by Erica Bauermeister

Added to my TBR pile (all-around shame!)
A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson

Moving takes a lot of time and energy. Be proud of yourself that you managed to finish anything at all!

It’s still an achievement! Slow and steady. I just finished A Memory of Light. It was EPIC.

Chloe – I’m re-reading Towers of Midnight and it’s taking me a while; they’re so good but they’re so big!

Yay for -3 TBR books! And yes, moving is a huge time suck. I HATE moving. I hate packing, and trying not to overload any one box with too many books, and shoving my collectables into a crushable thing that might DAMAGE THEM and and and. I hate it!

Good luck with your move, though. ;)

Anastasia – Thanks! I think I’m mostly getting settled in, and consequently starting to read at least a little more.
