TSS: April 2011 Wrap-Up: Books and Reviews

May 1, 2011

The Sunday Salon.comHappy Sunday, all! And Happy May Day, too! Is that still a thing? When I was little I used to make little bunches of violets and dandelions in strawberry baskets, leave them on my neighbor’s doorsteps, ring their doorbells and run away. Never had a maypole, though… that seemed like something only kids in books and movies got to do.

Ye Grande Olde TBR(e) Challenge Update

I started April with 275 unread books sitting around my house. And I ended with … *drumroll* …267! Minus eight! MINUS EIGHT. That is crazy-pants, y’all.

…anyways, let’s take a look at the breakdown:

Neutral books – Read, but don’t affect the TBR pile

Audiobooks
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

Read but not owned
Wicked Lovely Desert Tales, Vol. 3: Resolve by Melissa Marr
New Spring: The Graphic Novel by Robert Jordan
POD by Stephen Wallenfels

E-Books and Stories
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Re-reads
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J. K. Rowling
The Mummy, or, Ramses the Damned by Anne Rice
The Shelters of Stone by Jean M. Auel

Changes to the TBR pile

Read from my TBR pile (huzzah!)
The House on Durrow Street by Galen Beckett
I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman
The Ghost Belonged to Me by Richard Peck
The Boyfriend List: 15 Guys, 11 Shrink Appointments, 4 Ceramic Frogs, and Me, Ruby Oliver by E. Lockhart
Prophecy by S. J. Parris
13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson
The Reincarnationist by M. J. Rose
Poison by Sara Poole

Added to my TBR pile (shame!)
Nothing! Absolutely nothing! I am 100% shame-free this month! Clearly I need to celebrate by going on a book-buying spree… :)

I wondered if anybody still celebrates May Day this morning too. Congratulations on the TBR pile reduction! Very impressive.

Laura – Thanks! I’m going to more than make up for it next month, I’m sure, but it feels nice to post negative numbers.
