Sunday Salon: In which we celebrate Blogiversary the Second!
Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and that Santa brought everyone some fantastic books! (Or, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a nice day off in which to do nothing but curl up with a good book.)
My Christmas has thus far been lovely, if somewhat lighter on the books than normal. I got some new fantasy books from my LibraryThing Secret Santa, and two very intriguing-looking recent books from a friend… and that’s it for adding to the TBR pile. I did get a knitting pattern book and a cocktail cookbook from my parents, who seem bound and determined not to give me anything more to actually read… which I guess is fair, since a) they had to help carry Mt. TBR the last time I moved, and b) I still have one of the books they got me for Christmas *last* year in my suitcase, still unread. That’s what I’ve decided this January’s going to be for… plowing through the Books of Christmas Past (and Present).
January will also be the start of my third year as a book blogger! The fact that this is my second blogiversary is so bizarre; on the one hand, I feel like I’ve been doing this forever (maybe because while Fyrefly’s Book Blog is only two years old, I’ve been reviewing books online for twice that long?); on the other hand, the time has totally flown by. I mean, two years? That can’t possibly be right.
(Technically, it’s not. I created this blog on 29 December 2007, so I’m celebrating two days early. Oh well. :)
I started this blog because – no lie – I didn’t like the fact that my reviews on LibraryThing didn’t have the book covers and my start/finish dates associated with them. Since that time, I’ve put up over 500 posts, including over 350 book reviews. But the truth of the matter is, all those posts pale in comparison to the best thing about this blog, the thing that I never expected when I started… and that’s you, readers! Thank you all for reading, and commenting, and indulging my rambling, and letting me share my love of books with you. Cupcakes for all!
I’m glad you had such a great Christmas! Happy Blogiversary two days early!
Happy Blogiversary! And happy to hear your Christmas was wonderful. I had a book-lite Christmas, too, but I got other goodies. :)

Happy Blogiversary!
Happy Blogiversary! I love blogging more than online book groups or posting at BookCrossing because of the feedback, the comments people leave. Love the comments!
Congratulations!
Happy Blogiversary!

Happy Blogoversary! Please send cupcakes to the nth commenter whose name has 15 letters (trying to get around the problem I had with the cookies in the previous post!)
rhapsody – Oooh, sneaky!
Haha! My family won’t buy me too many books anymore either, incorrectly believing I have enough. Happy blogoversary!
Happy blogoversary to you to one of my favorite bloggers!
Boo on your parents not wanting to give you books, but yay on the Blogiversary!
Can I eat the cupcake during that unicorn ride you promised me?
The unicorn bearing your copy of Tomato Rhapsody also has a cupcake skewered on his horn, and is on his way to your house at the moment.
Happy blogiversary! Mine is coming up soon and I have not been as productive as you! Congratulations and have a happy new year, too.
Happy blogiversary!
Happy blogiversary!
Happy Blogiversary! (it’s my 2nd bookblogging anniversary in about 3 weeks time :) as well!)
ooo yummy, cupcakes! Happy Blogoversary the Second. Your blog is a shining star in my blogiverse. :)
Happy blogiversary! You have reviewed so many books for just two years!
Alyce – I didn’t really do 350 reviews in 2 years – some of those are backdated reviews that I’d already written, but put into their own blog posts working backwards in time.
Happy Blogiversary!
Happy Blogiversary!!! Too funny. I started with LibraryThing, then moved to GoodReads because LT didn’t have a to-read category. Then I started the blog because after moving to a new place and not knowing anyone, I was driving my husband nuts about talking about books. LOL!
