TSS: August Wrap-Up: Commenters & Search Terms

First off, I want to say thanks to everyone for being patient throughout August as I’ve been largely absent – slow about posting (I still have a backlog of six reviews to write, ugh!), bad about replying to comments, and HORRIBLE about keeping up with all of your blogs. The good news is that while the semester has started and thus I’m going to continue to be quite busy, I’m at least settling into a routine that gives me some free time (and energy!) for blogging.

No. Sweet Jesus Haploid Christ, NO. Among the myriad reasons why not, I think the Corinthian would traumatize a kid for life. Heck, he pretty much traumatized me for life, and I’m nowhere near a kid.

On bookcases, on night stands, on dining room tables, on coffee tables, in piles on the floor, in boxes, under your bed, in your purse, in the bathroom, in your car, send them to my house…. plenty of options!

costa rican panqueques recipes
Ah, the bread-what-whats. All of the panqueques I had in Costa Rica were regular pancakes, but my copy of Costa Rican Typical Foods (which I got at the airport for $2) has the following recipe for Chorreadas, which are sweet corn pancakes and are really good with vanilla yogurt:

Combine 2 c. corn kernels, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 c. flour, 2 eggs, 2 T butter, 1/2 c. milk, and 1/2 t. vanilla in a blender until mixed but still lumpy. Fry pancakes in butter or oil. Serve hot and top with cream cheese or sour cream (or vanilla yogurt, as I said.)
