Radio Silence…

February 26, 2009

Sorry I’ve been MIA for so long (if anyone noticed; objectively, it really hasn’t been all that long), but my computer’s been in the shop. Nothing serious, no loss of data, but it had been having some problems with a faulty logic board, and I decided to get it fixed before it turned into something serious.

The good news is that it’s a known problem with the batch of laptops of which mine was a member, and Apple is replacing it for free.

The bad news is that it has revealed to me exactly how much of a computer junkie I am – seriously, I’ve been without my laptop for less than 40 hours, reduced to using the public computers at work, and I’m going crazy. Last night I had to watch a DVD on my DVD player! And read a book without immediately reviewing it! THE HORROR!!

Anyways, should be back in the wonderful world of personal computing soon, with two reviews to write and probably six million items in my Google Reader. Apologies if I’m slow about things like getting to your comments in the meantime.

I feel your pain. When I go to my parents, I have no internet and some days it’s just awful.

bermudaonion – Heh, that’s funny, since last night I was thinking of things I could do without my computer, but I was actually thinking of things I could do without the internet. “Type up some vocab… no, wait… get the photos off my camera and clean them up… no, wait… burn some more back-up DVDs… Shoot!”

Nymeth – “I can quit anytime I want, I swear!”

Serena – It’s a specific batch of MacBook Pros that are having specific video issues – there’s more info here.

Memory – Replacement part has arrived and been installed, so I’m back in the land of personal computing, hooray!

If I go a day without checking my Google Reader it goes nuts on me so I know how that is. Glad you’re back!!!

I know just how you feel. I start to get the shakes! (And I am always reminded of Feed by MT Anderson when I get that way.) :-D
