Read-a-Thon: Hours 3 & 4
October 18, 2008
I’m currently at page 242 of Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. So far, it’s a lot like The Spiderwick Chronicles, except geared for a slightly older audience. Quick-reading, creepy, fun, with satyrs that will trade C batteries for gold so they can watch their forbidden portable TV.
Finishing this will probably take me another hour, plus I should probably get out of bed at some point and do stuff like eat lunch and put in my contacts (ignore the whole bit about that happening 2 hours ago). :)
From XKCD, one of my favorite nerdy webcomics.

376 pages! Woo-hoo!!
Oh Fablehaven sounds good, it’s in this month’s Scholastic school book order so I may have to add it to my list :)
hahaha :D I love xkcd, and that’s a particularly great one. My morning routine resembles that a lot :P
I’m glad you’re enjoying the book!
Wow, you’re trucking along! Check out Dewey’s Hour 6 post, and email your book choices. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations, you rock! Ugh, my son would be embarrassed if he just read that I wrote “you rock”! :D I am impressed at the number of pages you’ve read already. Actually the book sounds really interesting. I am anxious to hear more about it. I’ll stop by later and check out your thoughts on it.
Whoo Hoo! You go girl! My son’s read Fablehaven and loved it. Hope it continues to meet your expectations!
*smiles and happy reading*

Eating and contact lenses are always good. I prefer staying in bed though. Good job!
That’s a lot of pages! I am so slow. :)
I have never heard of FableHaven. May have to get a copy of that.
Wow! Almost 400 pages. You’re doing great. :) And congrats on the prize!
xkcd is one of my favs, too. Do you read Questionable Content? It’s less geeky and more music-snobby, but I enjoy it.
Happy reading! :)
