Review? Haiku! giftcard giveaway Winner!
We have a winner!
I was awed by the incredible turnout to my Review? Haiku! giveaway – 45 people entered, plus with the bonus entries for linking, led to a total of 62 entries!
And the winner of the $20 Amazon giftcard, as cheerfully picked by random.org, is…
Carl V., from Stainless Steel Droppings!
His Haiku:
Eleven stories,
Famed authors weave tales of woe.
How they creeped me out!
Subterranean: Tales of Dark Fantasy

Congratulations, Carl!
There were tons of great entries submitted… I encourage you to head over to the comments on the contest post to check them out. In particular, I want to call out Literate Housewife, Dew, and Debi – excellent use of “Inquisition” (4 syllables), “curmudgeon” (3 syllables), and “whack-job” (2 syllables), respectively. :)
Ha ha, whack-job, I have to check that one out. I’m thrilled Carl won, since he is always so generous himself.
Oh my! Thank you so much. I’m thrilled that I hit the jackpot with the random choice! Woo-hoo!!!! Seriously, I am so excited, this is great! It was such a fun contest and I really enjoyed reading the examples and the entries.
And thanks Dew, you make me blush!
Congratulations, Carl! I’m just excited to get an honorable mention! :) I had fun writing that. Thanks for the mental stimulation!
Congrats Carl. Much better haiku than mine!
Congrats, Carl!
( Thanks, Firefly, for the recommendations. I am unfamiliar with all of them. Can’t wait too check them out. )
Congrats Carl.
What a great contest idea Nicki.
I loved reading all the entries!
Congratulations to Carl!
And thanks for hosting such a fun contest, Nicki! I have to tell you that I now find myself trying to haiku review books in my head all the time. I think it could become an addiction.
By the way, I just read your “about” post…you sound eerily like my husband:
“I’m a graduate student in biology,”…he just happens to have finished a few years back, “voracious reader,”…yep, sounds like him, “and semi-recovering used book sale addict.”…sounds like his recovery is going about as well as yours. ;)
thanks for all the congrats and thanks again Nicki for such a fun contest idea! I may have to adopt it for a part of one of the annual challenges that I host.
